This competence centre for renewable resources is located in a former monastery garden near the city of Straubing. The further use and reconstruction in combination with the urban integration of existing structures is formative for the appearance of this complex especially the new buildings in their different construction stages like for example the central technicum in the first section with its laboratory attachments and the greenhouses. A third stage includes a interdisciplinary scientific laboratory. The core of this construction is going to be a wood-powered heating system with a maximum power output of 1,2 MW. Derived timber product is the predominant construction material of all supporting elements in the interior fitting.
